1st day of school
Monday, July 30, 2007

I'm suppose to meet Calista and June at 8:15am today but the bus journey was pretty fast even though I felt that the bus is crawling along Bukit Timah Rd. I arrived at 7:50am, didn't really know what to do so I explored the school compound for awhile.

June and Calista reached our meeting point at around 8.00am. We were damn early la! We decided to sit down outside the foodcourt area before it's time to go in for our first lecture.

There was the registration whereby we need to take our attendance and lecture notes for the entire year of Stats1. As soon as we enter the lecture hall, we sat somewhere in the middle. We were like talking among ourselves, 'thank god we went for the orientation camp, otherwise we'll probably be sitting alone.' lol. Which was true as I noticed quite a number of student who was sitting alone. So thank you Calista and June for the companionship.

The lecturer is Bernard Ong and I must say he's really quite an amusing guy. He's an 'emo' person too, he played emo songs before the lecture and during the break. Old school songs such as, Trademark - Only Love and Guan Liang - Tong Hua. I like those songs, I guess we share the same music genre interest? Haha.

Thats all for now, got another lecture tml; Introduction to Business Management.

Lesson
Saturday, July 14, 2007

We often advise our friends and closed ones about letting things go. There's many things in life we need to learn to let go as we grow up. Here may be some of the things I learnt to let go.

I'd to learn to let go of my pacifier when I was almost 6. Don't laugh.
I'd to learn to let go the pain of a bad fall when I was primary three.
I'd to learn to let go of a 5-year relationship, my first actually.
I'd to learn to let go the fact that I'd to repeat my A levels.

Hmm, too much details. Anyway, I've learnt to let it go and move on with life. But there's the next line that follows after letting it go and moving on. Guess? Ok, fine.

Even though we let it go, we moved on with life, we learnt the pain and experience, we will never forget it. Forgetting is totally different from letting go. We don't have to forget the things we let go. It'll become a part of our memories, yours and mine. Doesn't matter if it is sweet or bitter, though we tend to remember only the fond memories, we won't forget those things that we'd experienced, hated or loved.

Learning to let go, moving on with life does not mean we're forgetting those things that had happened in our life. It does not mean we love someone lesser, remember lesser of some things, forget the joy that we shared or the hardships we had been through. Memories become part of us, whether we like it or not, let's pray that it'll be sweet.

My SIM Timetable
Friday, July 13, 2007

Well, this is my SIM Timeable, I rushed in at 6pm to do my eCR but apparently I'm acting like a beginner even though how much I consulted Jing Xiang and Huijuan about SIM stuff. Look carefully, I've Sociology and Introduction to Business Management on the same day. 'They' say placing two qualitative lectures on a single day = digging own grave. Well anyway, I'll just spam Brands on every tuesday then.

On a random note, I noticed a Lilo & Sitch jigsaw puzzle under my coffee table, seem that we were unable to complete in the end. Bah.

NDP Rehearsal
Tuesday, July 10, 2007

My nu er gave me a pair of NDP Rehearsal tickets for last saturday.
I went to ask Chuhui to come along with me to watch the rehearsal and also to support my nu er for her Ballerina performance.

Initially, we thought the rehearsal was pretty dull and boring. It was not as spectacular as I imagined though. For the first hour, the performance only takes place on the small stage infront of the centre yellow zone. We had to squirm our eyes to see what's really going on. Alot of stars didn't turn up so they had to wear a tag to indicate that this timeframe is allocated for the celebrity to sing. I thought it was funny and told Chuhui I'll do it if they offer me $300.

After the dynamic performance by the SAF (Giving a pride look). Things got better. Way better. I was very impressed by the SAF performance. It's quite breathtaking when you can witness a chinook hovering right above the sea level near the merlion. And the vehicle displays, commando 'jumping' down into the water and etc.

Followed by those typcal dynamic and 'spamming participants' performances. I would say this year theme is decently creative. The way they deploy and make use of the stage is innovative. What took me by surprise was there's a second round of red lions parachuting and it was like 8pm in the night! I'm quite concerned how are they going to see where they're heading when the sky is so dark. Maybe the stage is bright enough but still, dangerous.

We're lucky, heard from my friend (CT), there was no firework displays for the past rehearsals until ours, the 3rd one! It was really beautiful with fireworks coming from the buildings in CBD area, from the floating boats, from the stage and from the sides! Those fireworks are chereographed (did i spell it correctly) with 3-4 national songs. Simply beautiful.

We went for a *brr* coffee before we headed home after a long day.
Thank you for accompanying me.
